The Firm.
A Nick Love Film...

Nick Love’s adaptation of the 80s classic cult flick ‘The Firm’ is due to hit the cinemas this September. For those of you too young to remember the much loved 80s version you maybe surprised to find it was hardly Oscar material and quite flaky in parts. However what it did have was some classic one liners and what many considered to be Gary Oldmans best piece of acting to date. The main let downs of the original were the awful dress code and the lack of numbers in both sets of hooligans considering who they were portraying and the time period of the film. |
The remake uses the original story and characters, very loosely, but the gang numbers are much more realistic and the director has come clean that this is based on the formidable ICF of West Ham United and the Bushwhackers of Millwall (as opposed to some dodgy little crews that never existed running around in gangs of ten). |

Now most importantly to us here at 80s Casuals the clobber is looking spot on as you can see in these exclusive stills from the movie. All of the big guns are on display (as you would expect) Fila, Tacchini, Ellesse but on closer inspection you will also find some very convincing Best Company, adidas golf shoes, Munchen, pink Gazelles, Benetton rugbys, Patrick cagoules, Burberry and split bottom jeans /cords with a few flat caps and deer stalkers thrown into the mix. All in all this film looks to be the most realistic 80s terrace movie to date, whether you were a fighter, a dresser or both! |
